![]() ![]() ![]() I recently pulled a few out and the electrodes are already pretty worn after only 12K miles. ![]() I have 37K on my truck now and changed the original plugs with NGK's at 25K. The manual does recomend changing the drive belt at 60K. I guess I do need to change the serpentine belt, though, and probably my hoses. I added the Autolite plugs at around 60000 miles and since they are supposed to be good for 100k miles, I still have a while left before changing them. I would change the serpentine engine belt every 60,000. If you have regular spark plugs then I would suggest changing them every 30-35,000 miles. I decided to triple check and call my service guy at a local Dodge house and he verified that unless I'm hearing noises from that area of the engine, then I shouldn't worry about it. Timing chain doesn't need to be replaced untill 150,000 I had a Camry that had a belt, and they recomended replacement every 90K.ĭon't worry about the chain and drive on! Most vehicles that recomend timing belt replacement are cars that have timing belts instead of chains. I personally would not worry about it unless you have a problem. Under the recomended service/mileage section, there is no mention of doing any preventive maintenance on the timing chain/gear. I have the 2000 Dodge Dakota service manual that I bought direct from Dodge when I bought my 2000 4x4. I think you can get a service manual at discount auto now. I think Moog might make replacements for all. ![]() If yer still runing the stockers they may have problems. Where can I get a great one at a good price? Besides that, and changing the tires every so often, not much else has been done.Īny suggestions or documents you can point me to? at around 60k miles, and have replaced the stock shocks and brakes. I have just turned over 100,000 miles and want to be proactive in taking care of my baby.Īlso, since she is a stock truck, is there any other major service items that need to be addressed?
